Schools will dismiss two hours early Feb. 9 so educators can participate
in staff development activities.

Night of the Stars Benefit Feb. 12 & 13
Local Education Activities Foundation (LEAF) will hold its 8th annual Night
of the Stars benefit for District 742 activities Feb. 12 and 13 at the

ALC Wilson Hosts Family Movie Nights
Involving community and parents is one of the goals of ALC Wilson's site improvement plan. To help achieve that goal families and community members are invited to attend one or all of the Family Movie Nights listed below:
Shows start at 6 p.m. in the Wilson gymnasium. A parent/guardian must attend with the student.
North Students Perform Oklahoma!
North Junior High students will perform Oklahoma! Feb. 25 through Feb. 28 in the school's Little Theatre. The Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows are at 7 p.m. The Sunday show is at 3 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students and seniors. View the flyer.
South Drama Production Feb. 26 & 27
South Junior High presents The Thing From Under The North Pole Feb. 26 and 27. The Feb. 26 performances are at 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Feb. 27 performance is at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the door. Adults are $5. Students and Seniors are $3. Minnesota Student Survey
The Minnesota Student Survey is offered every three years and 2010 marks the eighth administration. During the last two weeks of February, all District 742 students in grades six, nine and 12 will be asked to participate in the Minnesota Student Survey. This survey is voluntary, confidential and anonymous for students. Questions on the survey ask about the student's activities, opinion and behaviors. Parents of those students involved will receive letters of notification. If you have any questions please contact your student's school administrator.
Winter Community Ed Class Registration
District 742 is once again offering an amazing array of winter classes. Community Education's winter course catalog was mailed to District 742 residents on Jan. 7. Online registration began Jan. 4 at http://stcloudcommunityed.com. Phone, walk in and fax registration began Jan. 8.
Board Reorganizes, Elects Leaders
Sigrid Hedman-Dennis is the Board of Education's new chair. Hedman-Dennis was elected by fellow board members at the board's annual reorganization meeting Jan. 6 at the District Administration Office. Cindy Harner is vice-chair. Bruce Mohs is clerk. Skyward Family Access Now Available
Family Access is an easy-to-use website allowing parents and guardians access to information about their own children. Parents and guardians are able to view their student's grades, attendance, report cards, schedules, test scores, and more. Informational letters, including login instructions have been mailed to each parent. Each parent or guardian has a unique login and password. To maintain confidentiality of the student information we ask that parents do not share their login information with anyone.

Families and staff have the ability to make secure online food account payments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using PayForIt.net. To set up an account you need a valid e-mail address, a credit card (Visa or Mastercard only) and your child's PIN number. Each child in your family can be set up on the same account. Money added to the account typically displays in less than 24 hours. You can also set up e-mail reminders to notify you when the account balance gets low or you can set up recurring payments.

The Welcome Center is a place for families new to our community to register their children for any District 742 school and also receive the help, services, and referrals they need to get students ready to enter school.
